Today, direct restorations in composite resin in the anterior zones are part of our therapeutic tools. Meeting the biological, mechanical and esthetic requirements of all the adhesive restorations, they are also a tissue-saving technique which is a considerable asset. Nevertheless, their success depends on a rigorous compliance with the operating procedure, particularly the "key stages" which determine the reliability and the reproducibility of the results. The esthetic diagnosis, the preparation of transitional line angles, the stratification and the finishing phase are the clinical key stages required for success.
